I believe my GE8's axle snapped

Hey all! First time posting here despite browsing the forums a lot. Anyways, as the title says, I believe I snapped the CV axle. Was on my way home and I accelerated a tad hard from a stop sign. Heard a loud bang and the car stopped moving. Speedometer was stuck at 20 miles an hour, no warning lights. Loud grinding noise when I put it in park so I'm just using the emergency brake. Just kinda sat there for a while processing what had just happened. A guy helped me get my Fit off to the side of the road (thank you wherever you are) and I just waited for help to arrive. Wasn't too far from home. Neighbors helped me get my car home.

Are these symptoms of the CV axle snapping? Will Honda replace it under the recall free of charge? Is there any chance I'll be provided with a loaner?

Take a look underneath at the CV axles. If it's snapped you will be able to tell pretty quickly. It could be a complete transmission failure too, but I don't want to scare you lol.

Just received my recall notice from Honda for my daughter FIT Sport. Unfortunately, the axle snapped about 3 years ago and I replaced the rusted axle. Since I did the work myself, I don't have a bill for the repair except for two brand new axles. They will not reimburse me for the repair, even though I kept the snapped axle as a souvenir. I asked how about giving me two new Honda axles for the axles I paid for. Nope.

We got her the Fit for free because the brother-in-law of my sister-in-law was using the Fit as an Uber vehicle and he thought the transmission blew up.
