Hope this helps someone who’s just afraid they broke their 08 automatic fit and think it might be the transmission. Lightly accelerated from a stop heard a loud sound and slight grinding of gears below, the engine revel as with no load on it. I turned the engine off right away got out and could push the car in park or in neutral. Scanned for codes none found. What was the problem? Left front axle broke right where Honda placed the dynamic balancer/dampener on the CV axle. A common rust point. A North East car, 133,000 miles. No other problems except the rusty back hatch handle latch needs TLC lubrication.

 

Thanks for that info. I hear a "clink" when I start moving and when then, turning the wheel. Doesn't seem to be a problem other than that though.
