Hi all,
Just recently went through the process of buying a Sumole Air Duct for my 2020 GK5, and as I've gotten some questions, I thought I'd post up a step-by-step for ordering from Taiwan. Sumole has released a duct for the facelifted GK5s that doesn't require trimming (yay!), but it unfortunately isn't sold in the US. I first attempted to purchase direct from Sumole, both on their Shopee and Yahoo sites--unfortunately, they wouldn't ship to the US. So, I used a buying service. So, steps:
Create an Account with a Taiwanese Buying Service. I used LetsGoBuy (https://www.letsgobuy-tw.com/). There are other buying services, so use whatever you want. That said, I had great luck with LetsGoBuy felt they were quick and had pretty good prices.
Start an order with the Buying Service. You'll need to know the items you'd like to buy. There are a few cool possible things you could import. Sumole's air ducts are available on their Shopee page here. If you have a pre-2018 GK5, choose 'Fit3'. If you have a facelifted 2018-2020 GK5, choose 'Fit3.5'. I went with Fit3.5 for my 2020, and it's a perfect fit. Buying services generally just want a link to the item, any specific details (color, model, etc.), and the total cost with shipping.
Pay the Buying Service for shipping items to them. There is generally a small fee here. Sumole (or other sellers) will ship goods direct to the buying service. Once they receive them, they'll update your account. LetsGoBuy's system is pretty awful at sending update emails and such, so just check in regularly. LetsGoBuy provides an unboxing video, which is a good time to make sure you've got the right item.
Pay the Buying Service to ship items to you. Select your shipping method, pay the buying service, and they'll send the item sent your way. I went with FedEx and had the duct within 3 days.
These are generally pretty basic steps, and they work the same for ordering from other countries too (www.tenso.com/en is solid for parts from Japan). If you run into other questions on this, let me know. The duct is a super easy install, and I'm super happy with mine. Pictures of the duct installed are below:
Great guide! If you don't mind me asking, what was your total cost shipped to your door? Also, do you notice any improvement in throttle response or induction noise?
Edit: I have a 2019 LX CVT with the same intake as you, so very curious as to results
Total ended up being about $137 USD (NT$2,762 for the item from Sumole and NT$1,038 shipping to the US). Maybe it's just me, but I feel like its definitely improved throttle response. I have mainly driven the car with both the air intake & duct in place--I only had the air intake in place for about 50 miles before swapping in the duct. I love the noise and bit of extra pep with it installed though!
Complete waste of time for a mod that mod doesn't even do anything. As the stock parts do the same thing. Hence why there is a grille opening and intake inlet is already there. Its just a wider opening. smh
If you want better throttle response just buy a throttle controller. I love my Pedal Commander. That is a real improvement on the cars performance. These are just a gimmick. No real dyno numbers showing any improvements.

Throttle commander is more of a gimmick. Just step on the gas pedal harder...
