2019 Honda Fit Ground CLearance

Hello - new member here and thanks for answering all my questions; I have a 2019 CVT Fit which supposedly has 4.4 inches of ground clearance. I'm having one of those buyer's remorse moments b/c I had a 2005 Corolla that was a beast in the snow and went over everything. And I mean everything - it has 5.7 inches of ground clearance and I'm now a little put back by the idea that the Fit won't go over; sandy roads on the cape, dirt roads near campsites, roots, rocks, etc that the Corolla happily ate for its noon-day meal. Any thoughts? Should I have gotten a Corolla IM which as similar ground clearance? Can a 2019 Fit be raised?

Thanks!

I feel your pain OP. My Ford Focus was fantastic for ride height (rest of the car was a total POS ). Not only could it clear snow drift etc with ease, but I also didn't have to raise it to do oil/filter changes.

OTOH my Fit needs to be raised for any under-car maintenance.
Honda designs these cars close to the ground not only for handling, but for improved fuel efficiency thru aerodynamics - my educated guess.

Ya sure, you can rise it. I've seen threads on here where others have raised theirs.

This seem to be Honda thing. Even big Odyssey has 4.5" ground clearance when competition is around 6.4" mark.

Thanks

I live in florida now, but my 2015 Fit never bothered me at all from snow clearance when I lived in Maryland. However, I have damaged the plastic pan under the front when I went over low curb I didn't see. And the repair shop patched the connections. Till I did the same thing again, and they replaced the plastic tray. Now I'm more careful.

My large plastic tray got torn off in the winter. I have removed it because it fell down again after the attempted repair. My car is treated yearly with Krown Rust so I am not concerned with exposure to the elements.

With all the pothole roads here in Chicago a Rally Fit would be great.

I literally hit a turtle once with the bottom of my fit. apparently, it was just the bottom cover, because it survived. I can't tell you how many times I have straddled road kill only to hear the dreaded "thump".
