Economical roof rack for '09 base?

I really need a roof rack but don't have much money, so can't put hundreds of dollars into the ones that are usually recommended here. My brother put a universal rack on his Ford Focus hatchback and said they're fine and secure.

Any recommendations? I'm moving off grid and need to be able to carry supplies on the roof.

In addition to here, maybe post up in the buy and sell section of this forum or see if you can score a used set-up on ebay or facebook market.
It's this sports fan's opinion that a "nice" roof rack or accessory is one that actually accomplishes the task of being a roof rack/whatever without.. rusting to dust, breaking, making a terrible noise, requiring that you modify your car (decreasing resale value) to accommodate a comparably cheap thing, so on.

I could offer you a complete Inno rack that I used on my 2009 Fit. Inno is a Japanese brand, similar to Yakima and Thule. What I have is identical to this setup:

I'll send you a private message through the forum to see if you have any interest.
