2011 exhaust leak from cat to bpipe flange
2011 exhaust leak from cat to bpipe flange
Hi,
As my title says, Ive discovered an exhaust leak on this flange. The flange has 3 nut to bolt fasteners. The top nut seems to have rusted out as well as the others. This has caused the bpipe flange to seperate from the cat flange. Otherwise the cat pipe and the bpipe seem in good shape. I guess ill have to take it to a muffler shop to see if they can get new nuts on there. I guess worse case I put a new cat back exhaust on, seeing its 11 years old now. Anyinfo would be appreciated.

How to proceed depends on what you're comfortable with.. That is to say, the exhaust shop won't have any magic tricks. If the bolts can't be gotten in place with an angle grinder, little cut-off tool, expect some screwy doings like cutting off the tabs the bolts go through and re-welding.
If you've got a good shop near-by, that'd be alright. If you're uncertain as the post would lead me to believe, why not snap some pictures for us?
Also, unless the OEM catalyst has failed, you'd want to try and keep it.

Tx for the reply.
Taking it to my exhaust guy to see what he says. If he can salvage the flange and get new bolts and nuts in thatd be great. The cat pipe seems fine. If he cant fix it, ill just put a new cat back exhaust in. The stock exhaust actually looks great even though its lived its life in the northeast.
