JDM Canadian Taffeta Pearl White GE8

Hello everyone,
I'm from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I've recently imported a 2007 Honda Fit RS CVT with 90,200kms which is technically a 2009 model in my country as 2007 would be a first generation. This is my first Honda actually and first FWD vehicle. I've owned a few other JDM RHD vehicles prior to this. I don't usually do forum build but figured I'd try it out with this one. I'll upload some of the Auction pictures of it before I received it local.

I imported it thru a Honda Dealership in Yokohama Japan so it's not an Auction grade car. But its incredibly clean with zero problems and I'm quite happy with my purchase for it being my new Daily driver year round.
For the Out of Province Vehicle Inspection, It only needed new Front brake rotors x2 and front sway bar end links, I'm also a Heavy Duty Mechanic in the trade so I know what to look for inspections as well work on all my vehicles when I can.
Installed new 15 inch studded winter tires as well, considering the car weighs next to nothing it's nice to have in our climates in Edmonton. Also installed a new Honda Block heater,Oil change, Cabin Air Filter, Engine Air filter, New Battery and some other smaller maintenance items.
With it coming from a Honda Dealership in Japan, it already had all its major fluids serviced like Brake fluids etc and have all the records which is a nice piece of mind.

As mentioned it's still winter for another 4 months or so, so I won't be adding much else to the car. I do plan on adding Swift Lowering Springs of which I've purchased and 15inch wheels for the summer that I will post at later date. Only aftermarket parts per say that I've got on it right now is the Blitz Engine Air filter and Lower Engine Crossmember brace.

Nice car!! I just imported a 2007 JDM Honda fit from Fukuoka in July. Great Car!! Runs like a dream. Only had 50,000 kms. It's for my son. He loves it. I drive it too 😁. I imported it direct from the dealer. It was still a pretty good price. It needed front brake pads, I needed to wire in daytime running lights. Pretty affordable and passed out of Province inspection after that.

Just out of curiosity I would love to tap your brain about the auction process. It's pretty affordable with my Japanese contacts direct from the dealer. But I would love your experience with the auction process. Can you read any Japanese (hiragana, katakana, Kanji) if so do you find that helps? I was a little intimidated by the look of the auction software however I am willing to give it a try. Not sure how much money I would save and I would still need to pay for freight. My last purchase the car was a really good price and the freight was decent. Not sure if I would save much more money. But would still love to connect on it and see what your experiences with was like. I'm not sure if one can send a PM on here let me know if it's possible.

PS - I wouldn't mind talking to you about block heaters as well I still need to have one installed on this. If I do it myself would be about a hundred bucks. If I get someone else to do it it would be about $200 which is still not bad. I might attempt it on my own.

What kind of rotors did you put in your Fit? Is it USDM spec?

Hi
New member.
I used bpro out of Calgary to import an 2008 GE9 pearl white. I used the auctions but bpro did all the bidding and work to get it to Vancouver. Took six months to find a GE9 not rusty. And then the shipping. But I got a great car. Supper happy. I'll try to get pics with the goodies I added.

At the port in Vancouver.

Pretty rust free

This is not mine. But spotted in Medicine Hat Alberta. Note the GE9 plate. (Sorry too blurry to see. The license plate is GE9.

Im hoping to learn from the group, all the things that a JDM makes more complicated. Like how the remote fobs are on a different frequency. The radios tune to different frequency. This is my first JDM, so lots to learn.

Mugen wing, grill, rear skirt not installed yet. Cusco tower bars painted perl white. Tanabe front chassis brace. Fake mugen pedals. Leather wrap wheel. OEM clear tail lights. RDX awd badge and cargo light.
And i installed MDX light and wiper controls. I did not like hitting the wipers every time I tryed to signal. And i wanted the fog switch on the combination switch.

And oem fog lights.
And front and rear cameras for evidence, because of the insurance issue in Alberta.
