Fit GE UK owners - Rear Foglight?
Fit GE UK owners - Rear Foglight?
Hi all
I have seen quite a few GE Fit's being imported to the UK, mine will arrive sometime soon, which has me thinking about how to install the rear foglight. I don't know if there is any wiring in placefrom the factory or similar to make this more straightforward.
Does anyone know the simplest way to do this?
Thanks

Yes the do make rear fog light taillights. But they won't be cheap.

Normally the easiest way is to replace the right hand side reverse light bulb with a red tinted bulb and wire to that…You’ll also need a separate switch with a tell-tale light. To indicate that the fogs are on. This should be enough to get an MOT pass. This assumes the JDM GE has conventional bulbs for the reverse light? If not then you may have to switch to UK taillights. The JDM GE is old enough now that you don’t need latching relays and stuff which you would do on a newer vehicle I believe. HTH
Thanks Dave for the reply. After some careful ebay spotting, I managed to pick up a set of UK lights for a decent price. I was shocked at how expensive the post 2011 units are.... but then I am a tight git. It wasn't a tough decision, as personally, I much prefer the red lights over the clear ones that come on the RS.
There looks to be loads of switches on ebay that will work, without a relay apparently. I will aim for an led bulb for the foglight to lower the draw on the wire. Any idea of how many GE RS's there are in the UK? There seem to be mostly auto's for whatever reason. Insurance is going to be fun...
