Fit as a secondary fun car.

I currently own an suv with 250 hp. Great vehicle for straight Hwy roads. Is a manual Fit worth it to have as a secondary fun car despite the low hp but great handling?

@Element999 The Fit is a blast to drive. 2500 lbs with 108 ft lbs of torque and a sweet MT gearbox. I was driving mine yesterday, and I still can't believe how the power comes on. The handling on a stock Fit is adequate for a hatchback, but the car needs more suspension.

What other cars are you considering?

I was considering a Miata as well but the price has gone up.

Fit is fun with the manual and some suspension/tire improvements. Miatas feel much faster(and are) and are more fun to drive with better steering feedback, plus it's a convertible sports car, so cooler and more special feeling that a Fit. I had a 1999 miata for years. I found the miata extremely reliable and cheap to own/use. For a second fun car, the Miata is (in my opinion) hands down more fun, no doubt. The Fit is fun, while being functional.

If possible, spend a lil more $ or find a Miata that maybe isn't as pretty, and go with that. Miata's are so fun and special. I miss mine dearly.

Miata vs. Fit is not an apples vs. apples comparison.

According to what everyone says, the Miata should be a ton of fun — a bottom-level sports car. But I have to assume that you will be paying quite a bit more for it.

Fit is a bottom-level sub-compact. But it maybe (really have to emphasize that "maybe") more fun per dollar than a Miata.

Fit vs. another sub-compact hatch is an apples vs. apples comparison. Maybe Fit vs. Kia Rio Hatchback.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

My Fit functions as a secondary ‘fun’ish car.

Its fine. I wouldn’t buy another if this one were to vanish from the earth. Our daily is a VW Alltrack, the actual fun car is a Honda S2000, and the Fit is my commuter car that has been modified in silly ways and serves no purpose.

It is fun in that everything is perfectly in tune with my muscle memory and requires no thought. But it is not a sports car.

Thanks for the response

I test drove a fit base my and I like that it felt light weight. I haven’t driven a Miata yet

My fun cars include a 2021 WRX and a 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT. But I find the Fit pleasant enough to drive that I really like driving it, and it has a better stereo than the others. I like tinkering with it and installing parts and goodies.
