Floormats for 3rd Gen: Weathertech or Husky
Floormats for 3rd Gen: Weathertech or Husky
Hi, Just purchased a used 2019 EX and I love it!
I am trying to decide between Weathertech vs Husky floormats. I had ordered "KUST" mats from Amazon and hated them so I returned them. They were stiff, warped from shipping, and did not mold to the floor of the Fit. It could have been that I needed to have let them lie in the sun, but I didn't like the plasticky feel of them either.
I am willing to splurge on Weathertech or Husky floormats now. I had seen some posts also saying that the Husky mats didn't mold that well to the sides near the door. I have also seen some posts suggesting that the Weathertech passenger side mat slides as it does not have the gripping anchors the the Husky mats have.
Any advice/sharing of experiences would be appreciated!

Never used the Husky mats but we have Weathertech mats in our 2010 Fit Sport and 2014 Nissan Leaf. They fit perfectly in both cars and we haven't had any issues with movement of the passenger mats. I will never go back to regular/OEM carpet floor mats.
If you have a bit of time it's worth a search on Craigslist, Marketplace, or similar. I got both sets for about 1/3 of new price because I wasn't in a hurry with the purchase. But, as indicated above, if I can't find a used set for a future car I won't hesitate to pay retail price.

I was going to say TuxMat, but looks like they don't make one for the Fit. Too bad.
I have WeatherTech on my '19 Fit EX MT6. It's okay/meh.
I bought Husky for my new Civic, but then discovered TuxMat. Tuxmat is so nice. I gave away the Husky.
Now, between Husky (Civic) and WeatherTech (Fit), I don't think one is particularly better than the other.
I'd still take WeatherTech or Husky over Honda stock, for better coverage.

I got a set of SMARTLINER brand mats for my 2019 EX back in March and I've been happy with them. My wife decided she'd get into the car with muddy shoes about a week after getting them, and I was super happy I had them.. they kept all that mud off the carpet. I've never had Husky or WeatherTech mats for any of my cars, but these ones seem to fit as well as I'd expect this type of mat to fit.
Weathertech pretty much set the standard for custom floor mats a while back but now there's easily a half dozen companies pretty much making the same thing which is good for the consumers price wise. That also includes the Honda ones which I have although I'd bet that they're probably the most expensive.
hi
From my experience, I recommend Husky. They are more flexible than Weathertech and fit well, even in the Fit. About the side fit issues, I had the same, but after a few days they molded better. Plus, they have better anchors.
If side fit is more important to you, Husky might be the better option. But if you prefer something stiffer, more "plasticky", Weathertech could be your pick. It all comes down to personal preference.

I have the Weathertech mats in my Fit; I got the kind with the higher sidewalls to help contain snow and slush (I find the "normal" ones without the sidewalls tend to overflow when the snow melts off your shoes, and that leaves salt stains in the carpeting).
