I am driving a 2010 Honda Fit sport and sometimes when I start the car the AC does not come on. Sometimes after I drive for awhile it will just start back up on its own. Or if I keep moving the fresh air/recirculation lever back and forth a few times the AC will also come back on. I just had my AC checked and there were no leaks or other problems. This seems really weird. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

The A/C is tied to the defroster. When you turn the defroster on to any fan setting, it should automatically trigger the A/C whether the A/C switch is on or not.

When you turn on the defroster, can you hear the A/C kick in? If you don't, I suspect that interlock is not working properly, and may be the source of your issue.
