Carbon Fiber Hood "Vents"
Carbon Fiber Hood "Vents"
I'm looking at the Carbon Fiber hoods and I see a lot of people on the forums have the OEM style ones... I was looking at this one:
Seibon Carbon Fiber Products: Hoods, Trunk Lids, Fenders, Lip Spoilers, Accessories...
The vent is right in the middle, and I'm not sure if water is giong to be a problem where the positioning of the vent is. Anyone have this hood to vouche for it?

Coming from the Subaru community, it shouldn't be a problem. The only possible issue I see is water spotting on your engine block, but really, if you open your hood up after a heavy rain, even with the stock hood, your engine will be wet.
Thanks EXWRX!
As for the catch pan, I was looking at that, but I don't know if it would work for the Seibon hood. It seems like it the engine would be in the way of a catch pan.
I was more worried about when it rains while i'm driving. If I'm not mistaken the vent on the Subaru is for the TMIC. You want that to get as cool as possible, but I dont' know about rain falling on the engine while its running. Would that cause problems?

I don't know about just sitting in the rain, but as for driving the aerodynamics look like they would take care of any rain getting in because of the angle of the vent, but i don't know just my observation.

that's why It would be great to see if on another fit to see where its at. I can't really tell by just a picture. Also, by looking at the hood, it looks like aerodynamics bring the water into the vent. I can't tell if there is an angle to it or not.
any pics maybe?
I LOVE the style, I just want it to be safe.
