Question removing the grille

I really like the look of mesh grilles and blacked front emblems. but i was curious if anyone had completely removed their grille for the same look.

is it wise to do such?
or does it look lame?

I know it's possible, since honda puts out the 'sport grille'. There's a member around here with a mesh grille, but I can't remember who. It looks pretty good, especially on the lower grille section, makes it look like there's an intercooler if you just glance at it.

the only reason i ask is because if it looks ok without a grille all together then i thought id jsut do that instead of having to buy a mesh one.

But theres another member here (black Fit) who actualy painted the origonal front emblem flat black to match the grille and i really liked that just as much (if not more) as removing the stock grille all together

i think your talking about me. but, yea i think that painting the emblem flat black wont look as good unless you paint the actual grill as i did. i hate how the grey plastic looks that the grill is made of. i was originally going to just keep the grill out but it looks weird.

i used trim black spray paint for the H and i used actual two stage nhbp auto paint for the grill (exact same paint as body color). one thing you need to be careful of is when removing the H from the grill, take care not to break the plastic posts on the back of it.

of course youd have to remove the grille to paint it, but do you have to remove the front bumper at all to do so??

take the bumper off and u will find the 2 screws. Just unscrew them and unclip the plastic clips (just squeeze them) and push it through.

I did not remove the front bumper when I took out my grill. You just have to remove the four clips up top and lift up on the plastic and use a small phillips screwdriver to take out the two screws. Then there are either 4 or 6 clips that hold it in, that you can use your finger to release.

Here is where I made my own red JDM emblems: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...hy-bother.html

I got the 4 clips out but I cant see the 2 screws any help?

EDIT: Found the screw but im a bit worried about bending the plastic that far to get to them, especially when screwing the grill back in
