New Fit Owner - Question about delivery dates

New Fit Owner - Question about delivery dates
I just bought a new automatic Fit Sport today from the dealer here in Guelph, Ontario. I'm happy with the price I got and we're excited about the Fit replacing my tired old '93 Topaz to go along with our Odyssey kid wagon.
However, our first choice was Milano Red. Originally, I was told they could probably get one sent over from another dealer nearby but then I was told there were none available in all of Ontario and I would have to wait until the next shipment came in from Japan which would be late April. Then I was told June. Then I was told May at which point I said, OK, I can wait and then I was phoned back and told they double checked and they wouldn't be able to get one until July and that Honda Canada wouldn't hold our financing rate until then.
So that meant either my second choice (BOM) or my wife's second choice (Storm Silver) and in the interest of family unity I went with the Silver. Right now though I'm hoping it grows on me.
But more importantly I'm just wondering if my dealer's was feeding me bs. The way the date for the Milano red kept bouncing all over the place and then finally was made impossible makes me suspicious. Does anyone know if this sounds legit?

That does seem really long to wait for MR. But i really doubt your dealer was BS'ing you. They want to sell you a car more then anything, and they will do what it takes. Sorry to hear you didnt get your first choice. But at least you got a Fit! Enjoy your new ride!

Well I wanted the Vivid Blue Pearl and after waiting two months it did not show up but the deal on a Milano Red Sport fell through and I just did not want to wait any longer and decided to get it instead. I wish you lived close by our local Honda lot has a MR and a BOM on the lot! Hope you are able to get the one you really want. I called around to the local dealerships myself to check their shipments. They should know what is coming in but sometimes they get something else.
