Smile Honda Fit North American Model

Hi Guys,

I currently ordered a new Fit which is coming to North America in March 2006. My question is, does anyone know if the car will look like the exisiting model in Europe/Japan ? Or it will come in a different body style ?

Thanks

AT this point take EVERYTHING EVERYONE tells you with a 10 lb brick of salt...
That said just go back and read posts over the last 3 months and you'll get a picture...

I'm new to the site, and I currently own an EP3 (02-05 Civic Si) and I'm really wanting a Fit to go along side it. But yes, my concern is also about what will the car look like? But, I guess it's too early to say.

Just talked to my local Honda dealer today. They information that he got from Honda Canada is, the Fit will look exactly like the JAZZ U.K Version.

There's a new car show coming in January and we can reconfirm how the Fit looks like around mid-January.

I talked to a nearby Honda dealer about the Fit (said I wanted to be put on a list to get one right away), and they didn't have a clue about the Fit...or at least that's the game they're playing. They tried to sell me a Civic off the lot. grrrrrr.

Question

http://www.honda.com.mx/honda2006/index.html

I've watched the short video on the Mexican Honda web site several times - It's in the Galleria under video - anyone else notice the factory DIN mount head unit for the stereo? It has a little storage box not unlike the previous generation US civic directly below it (filling double DIN slot).
I'll bet that's what we get in the aftermarket ICE crazed U.S. version...

I checked the mexican price for Fit EX version with CVT.. that price is about 17k in Canadian dollars (That is top of the line) of course if accessories then more.

That is about the same price as a top of the line Yaris.

there is only one body for the fit/jazz and the north american market will probably get the bigger engine 1.5l vtec and probably an upgraded interior. they might also bring the 1.3l engine, it slow so i doubt it.
afaik the jazz will have a major change next year 07. the current model has been sold since 02 in japan.

Given the price of gasoline here in the USA (the cheapest is still around US$1.90 per US gallon), I wouldn't be surprised that Honda might end up selling over 90,000 Fits in the USA before the full model change (FMC). With the FMC, the Fit will likely be built either in East Liberty or Marysville, OH in the USA or Alliston, ON in Canada. And we'll get both five-door hatchback and four-door sedan versions with the full model change.

By the way, one thing I hope Honda does--especially now with the simplification of Honda's Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) dealer network--is that the company drop the Fit and Jazz names and call the new model City for the five-door hatchback and City Aria for the four-door sedan.

Fuel is $2- a litre or more in most of the rest of the world so US$1.90 a US gallon is still nothing.

1 US Gallon = 3.78 litres making the price just a mere 50c a litre. I pay far more than that just in tax with every litre.

the US prices for gasoline is so cheap, we pay around usd.61/liter for 89 regular unleaded here in manila. hope that it will go down but it will be just wishful thinking.
we had an economy run a year ago and the jazz 1.3l won, traveled something like 31km/liter!!!
