In Canada the gas average price is 85 cents a liter.. thx to the Bush-War.. hopefully no terrorist to target oil refinery.

Also the gas in Canada fluctuates day by day, hour by hour... say 90 cents a liter in the morning.. and could go as low to 83 cents a liter by 10 pm.. dam gas monopoly game.. blame some of that to the government (TAX!!!)

If Fit can do a better mpg than a Civic.. it should be a hot seller.

I don't like Bush either - but I think OPEC and increased global use by China and India have more to do with gas prices than Bush right now...

Didn't know they still made the Beat. Was a good competitor to the Cuppuccino from Suzuki.

By the way, the Honda Fit shown in those spy pictures is probably a Honda Jazz that is sold in Europe. Note the front fender turn signal lights, which is part of the EU specification for turn signals.

The US-market Honda Fit will have the turn signals integrated into the headlamp housing, just like the Honda Fit model sold in Mexico that are imported from Brazil.

Honda does not offer seat belt extenders. May be an issue for the US market but not the rest of the world.

I've never even HEARD of seatbelt extenders... Not to be mean, but they might be exceeding the weaght limits of the car, that in it's self is a safety issue. I think I agree with the comment to buy a diffrent brand car.

I've never heard of seatbelt extenders, either. My guess is that they are for people who would not normally be accommodated by regular seatbelts...not to be disrespectful, but I can't see such a person in a subcompact car...I mean, that's where big SUVs come into play (although a bicycle might be a better choice...)

I do not think that this will be an issue, even here in the Big Ole Fat USA. C'mon, Vividjazz, you don't think we're ALL like that, do you? For what it's worth, Canada's obesity problem trumps ours, percentage-wise.

Talking

Don't just blame it on obesity exclusively - America treasures it's larger male physique. I don't work hard on delts and pecs just to be compromised by seat belts sized for compact Asian, European and Australian guys.

Found this. Don't take it too seriously you often need sealt belt extenders for baby capsules too.

And this is the typical Australian male (Mr Chesty Bond) - we all wish!

I'll go back on topic now.

I hope in Canada we get the fender turn signals like my 2002 Civic SiR hatch has. To me all cars should have these, and many now do in Canada.

I doubt it if the US version has side marker. From my experience with US' Honda, they never come with side marker. The picture shown above is exactly the same FIT that I have (Australian Vti-S), sidemarker and two front disc brakes, the rear are NOT disc brakes. Except my side mirrors are round, Thailand and Indonesian version are more V shape. I believe the picture above is V shape side mirror as well.

the only car i see in the U.S. with the side markers are VW's. so i don't think
they will have them(i hope they do though). when i've been in Europe they make
a great difference.

i am also hoping for both engines, i'm sick of throwing away money at the pump(at
least $100-150/month) or more. this car would cut my fuel bill in half! (40 mgp avg.)

compared to Jazz sold in Asia, the Fit in the US doesn't come with rear disc brake, side body moulding and height adjustable driver seat.....

And many other things according to other posts. In the UK we get things like electric folding and heated mirrors, sunroof, mirrors on the visor, rear discs, CVT transmission all as standard.

But the thing that the US has that we cannot get that I really want is cruise .... got it on my other car and that is so useful. Guess it is not put on our Jazz because it is mainly sold as city run around rather than long distance cruiser.
