I have never acted like a child and I am paying for it.

Has anybody ever purchased a car without driving it? I went in to get a trade-in on a Honda Civic hybrid 06 which was nothing but troubles and they cold never fix them.

I got caught by a salesman who was so good the next thing I new I was waiting for him to find a Fit Sport 09 that was not in the US. However the next day I got a call and my Fit with the exact add-ons (sports grille, all weather mats, navigation, bak paint cover so the back lip where the hatchback is wont get scratched was all of the sudden in the US and right in their dealership.

I went down, they gave me $17,500.00 for the Civic and I put $4000 on my AMEX signed up for the extended warranty and was driving home a car I could barely fit in.

The ashes fly back into the car. I know I should not smoke but I have never had a car where something is in the way where the wind makes the ashes fly right back into the car and they are all over. it has very little pickup unless I w ant to use nearly a whole tank of gas for one quick start at a red light..

These paddles the sales man says do not get too excited about because they really do not do much but it seems like it makes the car drive like a manual.

Any comments on tis car, use of the paddles, why it is so small. I am only 6'4" and have never had a problem feeling comfortable in a car. I am 40 and have had sports cars to jaqs.

Is it a possibility I could trade this car in for the new Toyota Venza that is not quite out yet?

thanks for any help

peer pressure was never good for anyone. always test drive before buying. never let a salesman suprise you with anything because if they have the chance to pull a fast one they will. try sell it independantly if you dont like it. fits have good resale from what i have seen.

Yeah, I hate that about the ashes flying back. For the time being, only crack the window 1 1/2 to 2 inches, and the ashes will be at a minimum.

I was not pressured, I do not know what happened

I was told they did not have what I wanted, color, accessories anywhere in the State or US at that time so I could put down money and special order one. When I got the call the next day, I thought what is up with that. I went down there and sure enough he had it al except it was not a manual (which is what I wanted) it was an automatic. I did not pick that up until after the sale.

I was just stupid, because I did not feel pressured. I had been looking at so many cars by then I might have just wanted it to end. I was looking at Subarus, Jeeps, Toyota, etc.

Do you know the best way to sell a car? I tried my Honda Civic because the resale by private part was $21000 for a "good" condition, low miles compared to KBB. I only had 11,000 miles on my 06 civic hybrid

i roll my window up just even with the top of the mirror, basically half way. it's the mirror that causes the wind disturbance that blows the smoke everywhere. there's still plenty of room to ash above the mirror.

Don't know about your state, but in FL you have 3 days to back out of any deal.

I don't smoke in my Fit. It's funny because I've smoked in my accord, civic, and del sol, but not this car for some reason hahah maybe it's because I might not keep it after I get out of the Navy lol

I bought my first FIT without driving it first. Back then they were difficult to find and I located one out of state. I did do a lot of research before I bought mine and I was not dissapointed. I am not that tall (5'7") so it seemed roomy enough for me. The new one seems more roomy. I am an "anti-smoker" so I will not comment on ashes flying back.

That said, I would not buy a car without driving it unless I knew everything about it, and if one was available to test drive I would drive it. Even though I paid a deposit from out of state with the car I bought, if it was just not suitable, I could have backed out of the deal for any number of reasons and got my deposit back.

What color is you car.

You got $17,500 for your civic and you paid an additional $4,000 on top of it? You paid $21,500 for the Fit w/ extended warranty? Please tell me you got Nav. If you traded a '06 Civic Hybrid for a Fit, the dealer should have gave you money.

The good news is you shouldn't have a hard time selling the Fit because it's in high demand, but I doubt you get $21,500 for it.

Obviously you should go test drive some cars RIGHT NOW before you find a buyer... otherwise you'll have your back against the wall again.

Are you a girl? I only know impulse buys from women - but on smaller things than a car
I guess you would have got way more money for your civic selling it private and then buying a Fit with the money.

I didn't test drive mine either, no MT's available. I have test driven the 07 a dozen times though. No regrets here.

But impulse buying can bite you. Hopefully all gets sorted out. Most people usually get ripped with the trade in values.

Sorry to hear that you're not happy with the car. And yes, the best salesmen will *never* make you feel pressured... they'll likely close the deal and get it done without you arguing price with them as well. The worst ones sweat desperation the moment they lay eyes on you. Pressure usually comes when you're sitting in the financing guy's office as they try to sell you everything from an extended warranty to Lo-Jack.

I didn't test drive mine either, but I had test driven an '08 before.

Luckily no regrets here. I'm 5'9" so no room issues.

Personally I would consider finding an automatic transmission, when you wanted a manual, after you complete the sale to be a huge issue.

I never test drove my '09 Fit either (and had never even sat in any previous model). I knew I wanted it based on the dozen reviews I'd read about it. When I went to the dealership all they had was one automatic '09 Fit. I sat in it for about 3 minutes but didn't drive it because I knew I was going to get a manual transmission. I picked up my car last Saturday and am thrilled because it "fits" me perfectly (I'm a 5'4" female). It has pretty much exceeded all my expectations. Obviously everyone's different, but I wasn't at all worried that I didn't test drive it first (maybe I should have been, but I wasn't :-)
