Unhappy SuperBowl XL Fit commercial???????

OK...so did I miss it?

There had been some talk / speculation that Honda may introduce the Fit to the U.S. during the Super Bowl. Unless I some how missed it, I didn't see any commercial for the Fit. :-(

It would have been nice to see something considering the fact that the Fit is supposedly due out in April.

They went with the big money truck - Ridgeline was the star of the show...
That Fit ad thing was just another rumor...

I knew that Honda would not do an ad for the Fit for the SuperBowl. Why? The Fit is still vaporware. Start marketing it 3 months prior to it showing up in dealerships would have been a huge waste of money and a bad marketing move. I think the earliest that we'll start seeing ads for the Fit won't be until late March.

Although N.A. Football draws a wide audience, the hardcore demographic group is to the heavy duty S.U.V. and Pick-up truck segment. Budwieser, belching, blue collar and balding.

I couldn't disagree more... You must be confusing the NFL with NASCAR.

Talking

Its too early for a car that isn't in dealerships yet. Unless you wanted to build massive hype and unload a large volume on opening day. But we all have heard supply will be limited early on, with a new model.

They could have created a webad just for us on Fitfreak, talk about hitting your target audience.

Have you noticed there have been no Civic ads to speak of on TV since the new Civic arrived. All accord. accord accord accord, pilot pilot pilot

If the product's got legs than no need to advertise (i.e. hot sellers / backorders) -
Those cars/trucks that need movement (i.e. stagnant inventory) are being plugged ...

What channels have you been watching? Unless you haven't noticed the Si commercial with the Si flying thru traffic!!!!!

I was very disappointed that no ads of the Fit were shown. Thought Honda had the rep to capture the audience in like past Super Bowls with the Del Sol and Ridgeline.

Lightbulb Alas...

...I don't expect Honda to start showing Fit ads until middle March 2006.

This is just a thought from a totally uninformed rumour monger, but Honda is the title sponsor of a PGA Tour event in Florida. This year that event is being held March 9-12. They already own most of the advertising time...

Yet another good opportunity to get the word out on the SOON TO BE RELEASED Fit. However, I'm sure Honda would have reached a larger audience with the SuperBowl than they can with the PGA Tour.

You are forgetting about the "Tiger Woods Factor." Oh, sorry I forgot he is sponsored by Buick and typically doesn't play in tournaments sponsored by competing car companies. There is also March Madness. Come, I am trying really hard to start a rumor here, work with me!
