Interesting video between a lower car vs. higher car crash.

I found this very interesting to post since most of us like to lower their Fits.

Or regular height Fit vs SUV = death for the driver. And lowered Fit vs not lowered Fit = Serious injury or death to the driver of the lowered Fit. That sux.

You will survive at lower speeds crash on a lowered car, but at high speed even if your car is not lowered you still will probably die.

so it doesn't really make a difference if your car is dropped or not if your in a 60+MPH crash.

Yeah on a lowered car you can survive you'll probably just lose a leg or arm on low speed collision while on a non-lowered car the chances are you can step out of the car without injury. That's not a big issue losing a limb.

i think this video shows the real problem.... SUV's 90% of the ppl who drive them DO NOT need them... and 90% of those people drive them like @$$holes.... i lost count of how many times i got cut off by a soccer mom ALONE in her SUV on my way home today...

Isn't the ACE body structure supposed to increase safety in this type of crash specifically?

I have lowered every car I've owned (3 vw's) but I decided I didn't want to lower my next car. I bought my 09 Fit Sport being 'OK' with it's stock height. I looove the look of lowered cars in general but I was sick of bottoming out, angling every speed bump, and basically adjusting the way I drive to suit the suspension (avoiding pot holes etc.). After 10 years of this I just grew out of it.

everyone knows lowered cars are not as safe as a stock height car, or even a lifted car/truck. gotta pay to play

Very scary indeed. I read an article a while back that stated that the main reason North Americans bought SUVs was not to do off-roading (less than 5% of people do), or for the cargo space (minivans are best for this), or for hauling (pickups are best for this). The #1 reason was that the buyer wanted to drive his/her family in a vehicle that would keep their family safe in a serious collision, even if it was at the expense of obliterating the other car and its occupants. "Better them than us" is the overriding thought.

All this love for your fellow man is warming the cockles of my heart . . . not.
