my fit story

This happened on Sunday, but i just haven’t got around to posting this.
Anyway Ive have been following the fit quite a bit (especially through this site). I like the fit allot but lately I’ve have been thinking less of the fit. My main concern I’ve been worried about is that the fit is going to come out looking really awkward among other cars (like the scion) and look a little "clown carish". Well I went to the Honda Grand Prix of St. Pete Sunday, and Honda had a huge tent there and what do you know there was a fit there. And I must say my concerns vanished after the first few seconds walking around it. I was surprised how the fit was actually bugger than I thought it would be, not on the inside but the outside. When someone got out of it it didn’t look like a cartoon. Not to mention when I got in it I was amazed by the quality of the interior materials. Overall I guess the moral of the story is that pictures definitely don’t do the fit justice. Seeing is believing. Which makes my car situation that much harder with the fit jumping to the top of my list.

Washed my Fit Monday night, I'm 5'10" and I had a bitch of a time drying off the centre of the roof. If your 5'8", you'll never reach the top of this car when washing it.

Dang, I hadn't thought about that - I'm 5'7"! Hmm, I'll have to get one of those sponges with the long handles...

I'm 6'2" and the car felt kinda big to me. well at least bigger than I thought. Another thing I liked was how it was wider than the other cars in its class, like the xa. It just looked right sitting there.
I am seriously considering selling my car (saleen mustang) for the fit. I am sick of the gas guzzler domestic, The inside of the fit was so much nicer than my car's interior. I honestly think the fit was the most comfortable car I have ever sat in. If just looking at the car impressed me this much Im afraid to see what a test drive does.

Well, I'm 5'6 and I had a 1st Gen CR-V before...

To get to the roof, I used to stand on top of the rear tire but for the front, sometimes I'd get an upside down bucket to stand on!!!!!

Fit in St. Pete (arrrgh!)

Man, if I'd known there was a Fit in St. Pete I would have driven down (from Citrus County) for the Grand Prix. There's only one Honda dealer up here and they have no idea when they'll get a Fit - and don't really seem to care. They sell more CRVs and Ridgelines than cars, I think.

You might be interested in a wheel step that uses a strap around the tire, and won't mar your wheels...

Works great for that little extra height you sometimes need, when you're tying stuff down to the roof, too.

I'm just barely 5'6" after a good night's sleep. I found the handy old-fashioned redwood picnic bench worked great for getting to the roof of the minivan. Just don't stand on the very end. Done that, not good.

I've got a '94 Mustang GT that is nice, but is getting old and stuff is starting to let go, break, burn oil. Plus, the 22 mpg on highway sucks, literally. I'm loving the Fit.
