Impressed with Fit 2009

I have a 2009 Blue Sensation Fit Sports, which I purchased 2 months ago. On my drive home from work yesterday, I was hit by pick-up trucks on a highway. We were driving about 45 - 50 m/h. The impact sounded and felt pretty bad so I was expecting to see lots of damages.

But, surprisingly, only damages on my Fit were a little dent on the bumper and that round thing (I'm really not sure why it's there) on the bumper, which fell out.

I'm sure the bumper itself probably has to be replaced but I am so impressed with how sturdy my Fit is. She is a lot stronger that she looks!

They hit your reinforcement bar. The little round thing where the tow hook screws in when you take it off. Let's say you got hit in the strong spot

So, that's what it is! I guess I was lucky. Thanks for enlightening me.

yeah good luck if you ever get hit by something too tall to make good contact with your bumper. i got the whole back of my fit mangled by such a rear-ender. totaled and a half.
