Wheel and tire size experts check my fuzzy math for me.
Okay so I am looking to purchase new wheels to replace the Rotas. I would like something to offer me a bit more fender clearance. With the T1R springs and dampers I am rubbing on hard corners and larger dips in the road with 15X6.5 +38mm Rota Circuit 8 wheels with 195 55 15 Yokohama S.Drive tires. I am looking at buying some Enkei RPF01's in 15X7 +41mm. Here is where my math comes into play.
The overall width of the Enkei is 7" or 17.8cm, that makes is so the distance from the lip of the wheel to the center line is 8.9cm. Now the offset is 4.1cm. If you subtract 4.1cm from the 8.9 it leaves you with 4.8cm. Which if I am correct should be the distance from the hub interface to the lip of the wheel. Doing the same calculations with the 15X6.5 (6.5"=15.24cm) +38mm wheels it yields a distance of 3.82cm from the hub interface to the lip of the wheel.
Now this tells me that the Enkei will stick out a bit further than the Rota even with a higher offset. Now thinking since I am keeping the same tire and that is of unchanging width the actual position of the tire will move in the extra 3mm of the offset but will be a tiny bit more stretched making the sidewalls have a slightly less steep angle to them which should help with clearance.
Now my question is does my math check out or am I going about this the wrong way totally? Also do you think the enkei would give me more, less, or about the same amount of tire clearance compared to the Rota's?
Also just for reference what is the size and offset of the factory 15" honda fit alloy wheels if anyone knows?
Thanks a ton for your insight. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Actually the inner lip will be 9mm closer to the strut/fender well, and the outer lip will be 3mm CLOSER to the fender. So if you were having problems before with rubbing, they will be worse with the new wheels.

Also I am really digging this oem honda wheel however the only info I can find about it is that its 15X6 but I cant find and any information about offset though. Apparently it was OEM on a Civic if that helps. Can anyone shed a little more light on it?
This is the most detailed and easiest to use wheel and tire size calculator/comparator I have found. It will tell you all you need to know about the differences in sizes and clearences, without having to do any math yourself.
