k i have a real one...it fits pretty good..but there seems to be little rocks trapped in between it and the bumper...
and under vibration..the rocks will scratch the bumper....WAT to DO !!????

 

take it off, clean it, replace the tape, and try again? I love the way it looks though. If I were you I might just deal with it. Now I wanna get mine put on lol

 

maybe there's some kind of insulation/padding you can put on the underside of the garnish to prevent scratches?

My bumper is starting to get scratched up from mine as well so I'm searching for a padded solution

 

i think the only good way is to set a little bit more gap between the bumper and garnish

only problem with that is that a larger gap will allow larger debris in between the garnish and the bumper. Larger debris makes larger scratches.

I'm thinking I may get the rear bumper applique. It should protect the bumper. If anything, I'd rather the garnish get scratched from the applique than the bumper get scratched from the garnish.

 

Maybe have a scratch resistant matte lining sprayed on like a custom bumper applique but on both surfaces that isn't visible when it's closed.

 

the real one comes with round foam pads to prevent it from touching anything. If rocks are getting between there then you have a bigger problem lol. You should not have any debris being thrown in there that could cause damage.

Only thing I can say is make sure you use the round foam pads on garnish and clear stickers on bumper. I have had it on my car for over a year with no issues.

 

I was just going to say about the foam pads. Autozone should carry the 3M foam strip or any locla hardware store will have the 3/4th inch insolation tape which many people also use on their cars. $5 a roll, cant beat that!

 

ya this happened to me too but by then it was took late, the rocks scratched the hell out of my bumper, the only way to fix it is to always have a bumper garnish on there, as long as that thing covers it than im ok
