So my foglight bulbs are toast...

There was some major flooding in my area yesterday and I ended up driving through about 2 feet of water for a good 1/4 mile or so. Everything seemed fine but I noticed my foglights wouldnt turn on today. Turns out the colored part of the bulb 'detached' itself from the base of the bulb and the filament. One of the bulbs even shattered and left tiny glass fragments all over the inside of the lens. They were also about 1/3 full of water. I dumped it out and rinsed the lens out and it looks alright so far, letting them dry overnight. They were on while this happened so I assume the water got in and cooled them too rapidly and mustve shattered? They were Nokya yellow bulbs by the way. I hate florida.

Yeah they dont like water or even a little bit of oil from your fingers.
So I take it that you got a bunch of rain.
But but you live in a vacation wonder land

You could live right on the shore of a great lake, and get 20 inches of lake effect snow (but Tork, you should lower your car more....nooo not if I want to drive it in the winter LOL) But you can learn to live with it......by getting a 160HP snowmobile. Lake keeps us cooler in the summer tho, havent needed to turn on the air. People inland a few miles have had to tho.

Damn, that is a long period to have a lot of rain. Wonder if it screwed up the already way behind space shuttle up north, I forgot to look. But agree, a week during the summer is about all I can handle of FL

Where would you rather live? What is the perfect place?

Dude that sucks!!!! Hope it dries out. Hopefully it didn't screw with your wiring. Did you check to see if it blew a fuse?

Sorry about the crappy tourist. They all come from Ohio down to your parts in the winter. I have to deal with them in the summer. I think Ohio & PA drivers are the worst.

If that's all the damage you got from driving through 2 feet of water for 1/4 mile, you are one lucky dude! The Fit ain't no Range Rover .

Yeah, the intake takes air from right down there by the fog light, you're lucky you didn't suck up a bunch of water into the engine.

EDIT: Don't know if this applies to GE8 as well, but I'm guessing yes?

CAI yes...

stock GE8 intake box no.

This is exactly why I will never get a CAI. We also have flooding (maybe not 2' worth) but we still get 2-6" of rain sometimes not including the massive ponding on the roads. An extra 2-4hp is not worth the risk to me.

Put the stock bulbs back and they work fine, theyre just mis aligned. Ill order some yellow bulbs again and re adjust them.

Oh ouch, I flooded out my Chevy Euro Lumina once, it sucked. The police showed up (I did NOT go around the barriers - they were sitting on the side of the road, not facing the right way to even look like they were blocking the road) and said he COULD give me a ticket but wouldn't. Right in front of him some other dork goes through the flooded area and he didn't pull him over.

Did you get water in your interior? I did.

As I went down the road I saw a cop behind me close the intersection. I was already there so I had to go through it. The water wasnt till halfway down the road. Luckily I didnt get any water in my interior. A couple more inches and it wouldve I imagine. I mean it mustve submerged my foglights as they were full of water. And im lowered too :/
