I just want to add a sub to my car. so from my understanding I would need an audio out converter. to connect to an amp. and then amp to sub.

But will this provide a static sound? iam satisfied with stock speakers, but I just wanted some bass added.

To hook up a subwoofer system (sub, amp) or an enclosed amplified subwoofer (like an Infinity basslink) you will need a line output converter installed behind your factory head unit.

I would suggest having a professional do it if you're not familiar with the process.

As for noise (or static) in the line that you ask about, I would say that this will not be a problem. Use decent quality RCA cables from the line output converter to the sub amplifier (and make sure to run the cables separately from the amp's power cable).

I have experienced alternator "whine" from some audio installs, and in my opinion if you have a good grounding to begin with, things should go smoothly.

Alternator "whine" in my opinion is entirely dependent on the car's electrical system. Some are better than others.

You'd think that if this was the case with the Fit, other people would be complaining of it on this forum.

Cheers.

nvm, i heard a few systems the way i planned it.. i think the best thing for me to do is just get a new head unit.. because i am a bit spoiled on my old Alpine's high and low filter settings, i don't think i could settle for anything less.

thanks anyways, now i just need to find a good double din to throw in there.
