There are a lot of shallow mount subwoofers out that can be fit in tiny boxes. Pioneer actually has a pretty good shallow mount sub.

When I bought my Fit Sport with the 200 watts amp plus 6 speakers, I was thinking about installing my self powered subwoofer that I removed from my last car. But after I heard the hifi in the Fit, I decided it wasn't worth sacrificing the room in it. I'm surprised the sound system in the Fit sounds good enough to live without the subwoofer this time around.

i don't know about that, jensen. i'm no audiophile especially when it comes to car stereos but the stock system isn't great. i haven't done any mods to my stereo but i'm definitely going to do some research on hooking up my alpine (previously installed on my other car) and my low powered 10" sub.

I agree with you 100%. The first mod I did to my Fit was installing 4 aftermarket speakers and HU.

I actually think the stock system is pretty decent. It has a good amount of clarity and power for a stock system. The stock Fit speakers don't fill the low ends too well but and the highs don't have the best coverage but for a stock system I think it is superior to many other cars. At least within the general price range. I'm generally pretty picky about my audio but I have been content enough with the stock system. I had an Infinity 10" sub for a little while but I took it out since I needed the ability to fold down all the seats and use up all the cargo room on several occasions. I have been thinking about trying to get a small set-up inside the spare tire though.

Go sit in an Altima without the Bose. My 3.5SE was AWFUL!. made the fit feel like Carnegie hall. it's actually pretty decent for any car stereo, let alone an econobox. Especially since honda's history with stereos has been far less than stellar... my Acura Integra GS-R was far far far worse than the Altima... my wife's civic wasn't any better... for an AM/FM Radio only

Agreed. I'm looking at the infinity Basslink for the Fit. I have 2 10" kappa subs and a few amps around from the Integra but I'm not really looking to fab out anything anymore and the space thing is an issue. I'd like something removable.

I am also thinking about upgrading my soundsystem. I think that the only thing I would do is buy an off-the-shelf subwoofer.. since getting my car in late September, the dubstep and Drum&Bass I listen to has really screwed the standard units. With bootspace all used up though, finding somewhere to store it could be hard. I am thinking about a 6" or 8" or even 10" subwoofer between the rear seats, underneath the bench. There is so much room underneath the seats that it's an option for me.
