LOL there's hella debate on the bill.. i wonder if anyone actually took the time to read it...

 

I am not so sure it's a good thing. I haven't had a buttload of time to sit down and read it over, so I cam kinda still on the fence about it.

 

well on one of the issues... the whole pannel of people who decides who gets coverage or not...

i dont think its much different from how we have it now... insurance companies do the same thing but in a more anonymous way... at least now we can have people take credit for those decisions... good or bad...

 

The important effects:

1. No public option If they really wanted to drive down costs all they had to do was provide a govt. option that you can opt out of if you want. My main issue is that all they did was reform Health Care Insurance and not truly reform Health Care.

2. At least more people will have access to it now. Plus more jobs from the creation of the health care marketplaces.

3. Rush Limbaugh will be moving to Costa Rica.

I just want people to truly understand what's being done and what it means to everyone. There are so many people blinded by what's on the air and what's being said my the people who don't know any better.

It's not what I wanted but it is a step in the right direction. There's so much more that needs to be done. It's a shame that people don't want to take care of others.

It has nothing to so with socialism. It has everything to do with stepping up to our collective moral responsibility as humans to take care of each other.

oh yeah i was really happy to see that insurance companies can no longer deny coverage starting 2014 based on pre-existing conditions... should have been like that in the first place...

 

But then they would have to actually TREAT SICK PEOPLE.

I hate the idea of health insurance. It's gambling with peoples lives. For cars and other things it makes sense. You need that type of coverage in case something happens.

For health care though, why is that not a right? The first president to push for national health care was, SURPRISE, a Republican!!

It's a shame that people don't care about each other anymore.

 

here's a short dialogue between two people i heard while standing in line at the bank:
"if this bill passes, we're all fucked. why should i be forced to pay for something i don't need."
"yeah, why should i have to be forced to pay for someone's retarded kid's treatment and medication."
.. i can't believe some of the stuff i hear and read about the health care debate. apparently, it's socialist and un-american to care for a stranger's well being..

we're required by state to purchase auto insurance to drive on the roads. a law passing the required health care for able bodied [working] american's should have been a no-brainer. are cars more important than people's lives now?

 

If you think that's bad then you need to see the video of the Tea Party demonstrators insulting and degrading a man with Parkinsons. They were insane.

It's ridiculous the arguments people are making. I'm considered a communist socialist Nazi here at work....

 

I wonder if they have ever heard of welfare? I am sure there may be a mentally challenged kid or two using public assistance. My big mouth would have said something to the genious who said that.

 

It didn't always used to be so expensive. It's the problem of the HMO's and the PPO's.

 

Unfortunately some people can only afford HMO's. It's the way it is now. I blame Nixon for inventing the idea.

It's going to take time to realize how beneficial this is. Hopefully things change quickly.

 

I think it's good it passed, but I'm against the mandate. Hopefully the states will sue and the mandate will be ruled unconstitutional, then we can have the good reforms without the fascism. Unfortunately, then we'd probably not have the money to fund it. IMO a mandate is only constitutional if the whole thing is a non-profit public option.
