I looked at a bunch of posts and doesn't seem like I can find one with this exact tire. It's going on a GD3

with a 205/50/15 tire

I've seen that 195/55/15's work, so would these also work without rubbing? Thank you.

 

I am thinking you would have some rubbing... The tire would be protruding 22mm further out than the stock Sport wheel and tire.. You can squeeze the fender inner lining to get some additional clearance and the rubbing wouldn't be constant but on bumps and full lock turns there will be a little rubbing... Possibly more so if your car is lowered but you might be able to live with it.

 

I'm running 205/55R15s on a 15x6.5 +40 Konig Quiz and at stock height. My tires are taller than yours and my offset is slightly higher, but I can assure you that in the front you will not rub the inside of the tire when turning. As for the outside of the tire, I don't think you will rub because another member here was running a 215/40/R17 tire on a 17x8 +32 rim with GF210s and he said that he didn't rub in the front. If you do rub in the front, just tuck the fender liners.

Now for the rear, I rub a mm or two shy of the screw that is attaching the bumper to the body of the Fit. Again, I have taller tires because of the sidewall; so, if you are at stock height you might rub on that screw on a hard bump or with passengers/cargo in the rear of the car. If you are lowered, then you will rub on a bump or with passengers/cargo in the rear.

 

im 15x6.5 +38 on a 195/55/15 tire and i still rub on a fast turn or a hole in the street.

 

Front or rear, what ride height, and are your fender liners tucked?

 

front rubs and i have no fender mods at all. on springs

 

FYI Hootie +40 is a higher offset then +38

 

I know; the higher the number the more sunk in the rim is, the lower the number the more it sticks out. (In the case of positive offsets)

That is why I said in the first paragraph the inside of the tire will not rub as well as mentioning another member's set up who had a wider tire and wheel combo to clear any confusion about the outside tire rubbing. In the second paragraph, I said that running the 205s on a +38 rim may hit the screw because it is 2 mm (0.07874 inches) closer to the screw (2 mm outward, away from the car) than on my set up.

I had 195/50/15 with a +38 and lowered on progress springs with out any rubbing issues, if I remember right

I'll probbably pass on this as I do have some T1R lowering springs coming in the mail. When-ever I have to buy new tires, I like to check out the classifieds for some good deals on wheels.
