Tailgate light in NA Fits?

I have a NA BOM Fit Sport AT and was unloading the trunk area the other night when I noticed it was pretty dark back there. I was going to get a small battery powered light and affix it somewhere on the tailgate to give me some ligh for nighttime unloading.

I then noticed a light on the left (drivers side) of the rear interior section. The light wasnt going on, so I pulled off the housing and found that it wasnt wired to anything! They put a bulb in there, but it aint hooked up to the rest of the electrical system.

Do all you NA Fit owners have this, or do I have a lemon on my hands? Any ideas or links to small battery powered lights that would be a good replacement for this non-working light?

I think that the factory forgote to plug it in. I would take it back and have the dealer fish out the harness and plug it in. My sport works.

fixed!

Thanks people, I was inspired to try a little DIY, and fished out the harness myself. Sure enough, just plugged it in and "then there was light". Score one for the cyber-garage.

Keep Fit y'all!

Any way to replace the cargo light bulb with an LED?
