I've seen some D.I.Y. for the side mirror winkers/blinkers, but I've yet to see any D.I.Y. for the mirror defrosters. Do any of you guys know of any D.I.Y. links for the side mirror defrosters you can lead me to or can explain how to actually install or give some pictures? I'm planning on buying the U.S. Honda Insight 2010 mirrors and need to know which wires I can splice to the back rear window defroster, and use the defroster switch along with it, without under powering the original defroster or burning it out.

I was planning on using the original sockets that the Asian and European version Fits use but took the power connectors apart to find no pins in there I can connect to according to the ESM. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Koo. Ya, I found the stuff on the winkers, but what I need is the wiring for the heaters. The wiring for the winkers and heaters are 2 different things. Thanks for the stuff on the winkers though. More info.

 

You could buy a relay kit for 40amps (overkill) but it.will be on the safe side the. Just use the factory defrost switch as a the switch for your relay and.the supply your own power to the relay and grounds.to the heater elements you won't have to have any ugly aftermarket switches but you can retain the safety of a relay running.the power instead of all threw the factory switch

 

You can buy 10-11 Honda Insight mirror covers with integrated turn signal to replace stock 09-11 Honda Fit and you will get Integrated turn signal. 2 wire connections.

You can also use 10-11 Honda Insight heated mirrors. They will fit 09-11 Honda Fit. However, there is slightly different mirror holders between Fit and Insight. You have to reuse Honda Fit mirror holders. Wiring is simple, just 2 wire connections to existing rear defogger.

I have Cdn Fit so it has the heated mirrors and I just added the winker covers.

I called my dealer yesterday. The mirrors themselves with the integrated heaters are $70 Cdn plus tax each.

Mine operate off the rear window switch so I do not see it being a big deal to wire into that circuit when adding heated mirrors.
