Curious...

So for all of the people that are still out there looking to purchase a GD3. What is it that you would spend for one that someone already owns or that might have that is heavily modded? Just curious...

Are you taking bids? Are you needing money? Have you been drinking or smoking? I would bet that someone would buy a good used Fit. I have wondered why someone hasn't offered their used one at MSRP to someone that couldn't find the Fit they want even over MSRP.

A modded car will typically sell for less than parting it out and selling the car stock. That is unless you find someone who likes and wants the exact mods on the car already.

What is a GD3? Is that the Fit? And if so, where do the letters and numbers come from?

I believe it's the Honda code for the Fit. Just like AP1 is the code for MY00-03 S2000s and AP2 is MY04-06 S2000s and DC5 is for the RSX, etc.

Mods do not increase the resale value of the car, sadly. UNLESS you find a private party that is willing to pay more over the stock value for the mods you have done.

Oh I'm just asking a question to spark convo on this site. I know that mods will not increase the value. I sold my last EG with JDM '96 Spec ITR w/ TWM ITB's and full build for $8,000... LOL...

you can probably charge a few grand on top of MSRP but you wouldn't recoup the money you put into it.

generally, if i see a heavily modified car, i would be less inclined to purchase it because it might means the owner abused it or drove it hard.

some owners do take good care of heavily modified cars but i think it also takes some of the fun away for the next owner as well. he might have different tastes and opinion on aftermarket parts.

Honestly, probably no more than 75% stock price

I couldn't care less what the installer paid for his mods, for all I know, they could be installed like crap.

Unless it's a minor thing like accessories or maybe rims

Well all and all in my opinion it would matter who it is and the overall condition for the price...

Most times, it's always better to put the car back to stock and sell the parts off seperately to make back as much as you can. Most people look for used cars that are stock, IMHO.

I've put my last 2 cars back to stock before selling them, which is why I always don't sell the stock OEM parts I take off.

As far as the value of the a stock used FIT right now... are they even listed in KBB? I would expect at least the private party value of the car or slightly higher, but surely nowhere near MSRP.
