FYI The clips barely clear the width of the roof but it fits! I got it for free so even better and the current Yakima attachments fit with longer screws. Pics to follow

My friend gave me his Saris rack with clips for his Honda Insight, and I got it to work on my Honda fit without issue. He had the Saris bike racks for it as well. I was able to use the Yakima board rack as well. The Saris base plates seem to apply even load to the roof. The only issue so far is the wind deflector rubber gasket rubbed on the paint, so I have to polish that off.

I'm buying a 2011 Fit Sport and was told that only clips #64 would work on my roof rack. What have y'all used?

REI is currently having a sale 20-30% off roof rack stuff. I saw this honda fit sport with a Yakima set up. It seems to me like that biggest advantage to the Yakima kit is that its spread is much longer than the Thule, so carrying long stuff, like a kayak or surfboard would be easier and more stable. See pics

Does anyone have the spread distances on the yakima and thule racks?

 

go on the yakima site and they should have the spread distances for the roof racks.

yeah you need to adjust your roof racks. they are off by a mile dude. Check out the site though

REI is having 20% off all roof rack stuff, so I bought an extra bike rack for my SARIS roof rack. Several of the Yakima models work with the aero style bars of the SARIS rack, so I ended up getting the universal fork mount at REI

They offer some aero bar style front loaders, but they just seem to big and clunky to go on such a small car so I opted for a fork mount. I need to carry a third bike, so I got the Yakima bike rack for this upcoming weekend. 3 is probably max that can go on the fit roof, maybe 4 if you get creative with taking the handle bars off. Pics to follow in due time.
