Valve Clearence And Timbelt Breakage
It is my understanding that the Fit has a timing chain. Thats good if true but what are your comments? Does the honda fit 1.5 vtech have noninterference valves so when the timing belt/chain goes off the valve do not smash? I cant wait to get a Honda service manual.

On a positive note, the chain will make noise when it develops slack, where the belt doesn't. Belt just snaps, and chain just makes noise (at first.)
I'd rather have the chain!!!
This is just my 2nd Honda to have a chain.
I thought a belt would be good for performence and less noise. I am suprised how noisy the car was when it had 4 miles on it but now it has 2500 miles with much less engine noise. thanks for the coment.
I owned a 82 civic 1.5 litter (300000miles) that never broke a belt and the car had non inerference valves
