I was driving @ 55mph and it was like I hit a little bump (but I didn't) and wham no pickup engine light came on, no down shifting, no sports mode. I drove it for 10 miles in 5th or 4th? also didn't make any difference where the gas pedal was @. IDK I was trying to figure out what was going on. Slowed down for the off ramp finally down shifted and didn't up shift I didn't go over 4k rpms pulled into the drive way cut it off restarted shifted fine Sports mode was back and everything back to norm. except engine light had to start the engine I think 6 times and it went off. no prob today.

Anyone experience this?? If ya have please let me know what it was.
MzFiT has 37k have always done the maintenance never had a prob w/ her, but I do beat on her like a rented mule > jk, lol.

Wow you didn't hit a bump? Sounds like you've been zapped by a kryptonite laser gun... If you did hit a bump then sounds like a loose connection (ground maybe). Sounds like a Ctrl-Alt-Del (comes to mind) operation just happened.

 

Hey Perrenoud, yeah your Fit sounds like it went into "limp home" mode. Mine did that a few times as well. BTW, are you running a Throttle Controller? It turned out that there was a short on my BLITZ TC. Once the short was fixed, it has been running fine ever since.

 

Our cars have limp mode I didn't know that. But that could have been what happened to you. My wife's van has it, What it does is lock the car in to 5th gear. Getting her van to move from a stop in 5th gear sucks and that's with 240hp I can't imagine doing that with our 107hp.

 

Hah! My 2007 GD3 has 109 hp!

Ooops, Big Mike, I think one of those NASA satellite thingy's was tracking you thru all those UFO lights that you have installed on yur ryde...You know that thing is easily visible from outer space.

 

Good point Vinny. So true Big Mike... Vinny has direct communication with those satellites using those horns on his car...

 

Perrenoud out of curiosity did the 'D' symbol flash at any time?

To ID you're going to have to pull engine codes. Even w/ MIL off codes are in history. You might try a free reading at AutoZone, but they might not get to the heart of the Honda matter.
