Hey guys, haven't been on here in awhile. My '08 ge8 now has 53,000 miles and I am having a problem locating a weird noise that my wife noticed while driving my car. It almost sounds like a grinding, or a condenser pressure release, its really hard to describe. It happens randomly, it usually quits when I apply the brakes and stop but it can happen when I am coasting, accelerating, or decelerating. it only happens for about 15 to 25 seconds at a time and goes away and come backs randomly. I haven't drove a long trip to determine if it goes away after so many times or not but just out of the 2 hours I have drove it over the past few days it seems to happen more often closer to when the car is cold then over the long run. I am going to try and get it to the dealer tomorrow or the next day but I am not sure when I will have time. We are leaving for a trip to Dallas on Saturday and I know its nothing to do with the motor or tranny directly but it's something that I was hoping someone else had the same problem and figured out.

I changed the brake pads that that fixed it! There was still pad left. One of them maybe had .5mm left so it was REALLY low but that wouldn't cause the grinding noise I was hearing. Im thinking it was one of no squeal plates. I also changed the trany fluid, oil, oil filter, air filter, and rotated my tires. Good day for the Fit!
