What! Independent rear suspension?!?

I want that on my car! I mean I don't want an EV. But I DO want the new suspension.

That's quite interesting. The Leaf, Prius, Volt, Fiat and just about every other small car in the market uses a twist beam setup. Trying to think if any of them have independent rear suspension. I bet the extra weight was too jarring and harsh.

remember the weight distribution is on the current fit??? irs will be worthwhile weight compromise... pair that with a 6spd trans and you're golden.

I have had both, and IRS is not that big a deal. Just adds weight. A well done non-IRS is just about as good, simpler, cheaper and lighter.

So have I, and I have no problem with trailing link designs. I'm guessing they used it to create room in the chassis somewhere just forward of the rear wheels. Battery storage?
