Should I buy an 09 Sport A/T with 92k mi?

I've recently been looking into Fits and am kind of in love with them. I drove an 07 base model m/t with 63k mi the other day and loved it. Recently found an 09 sport a/t with navigation and 92k mi on it. I've been a little reluctant about whether or not I should go for the 09 since it has a lot of miles on it.

Has anyone had any issues with the 09 sports?

Are there any major issues with the tranny and/or the paddle shifters?

Are there any required maintenance fixes that need to be done?

I put way too much money into my last Subie and really need a reliable car that's easy on gas. Any suggestions or advice would be great. Thanks

PS. I've done quite a bit of reading reviews and forums. I can't really find anything bad about them besides the uncomfy seats, the navi system reading better mpg than actuality, and slightly less power in the A/T vs the M/T.

As long as it has a solid maintenance record, you shouldn't be too worried about it, it's a Honda . If it were me, I'd probably change the oil and transmission fluid pretty soon anyways just for peace of mind. There aren't really any major known issues with the GE8 except for the motion spring recall and the A/C condenser's vulnerability to rocks. That can be fixed by adding some mesh to the lower grill.

Seats are actually not too bad, people make a bigger deal out of it than it seems, same with the MPG meter, they are just little nitpicks. Get the A/T if the M/T is not super important to you.

Thanks, I will ask for the maintenance record. I saw the recall and have the VIN nos to look for. I would like a M/T but from what I've read, the A/T is just as good if not better in some situations. Probably not that important for the type of driving I do. Thanks. Test driving it today so we'll see.

i think the main question is what's the price, and how much are you saving vs. buying a new one?

the windshield may also be prone to crack (sometimes covered under warranty, but adjust your insurance to get glass coverage)
otherwise, it's just normal maintenance for a relatively troublefree car....

Well, I test drove it. Has definitely been traveled in. The transmission seemed a little sloppy and had a small wine and vibration under my feet. The windshield was just replaced. Didn't think it drove as well or had the same smoothness as the 07 base model I drove last weekend. They're asking $11,990.

$12K seems a bit on the steep side to me, even though it's probably not really out of line with what used Fits go for. The MSRP for a brand new sport with navigation is about $20K, which means that you'd breaking even with this car (more or less) when compared to a brand new one if it lasted until 225K miles without needing significant work. That's assuming, of course, you can afford the extra $8K. (A brand new base model is naturally closer in price; if you don't really care about the automatic transmission or the navigation or the sport model's extra trim, you'd be saving only about $4000 or so on those 90K miles.)

In terms of milage, there's a big difference between 90K highway miles and 90K miles over city streets filled with potholes. Since the miles were put on pretty quickly in a fairly short time (20K-25K per year), it's probable that they're more highway miles than city miles.

The whine might simply be tire noise. It might be something else, too.

Not many used Fits around your area according to Autotrader or Craigslist if you want a GD with 71k.

Unfortunately, I'm finding that out every day. I saw the GD today. Am going to drive it this week.
Thought $12k was a little high myself. The amenities were nice but the 09 just didn't drive as well as the 07. I assumed most of the miles were highway miles but it felt like it was in stop and go traffic its whole life. The noise didn't seem to be the tires, they put new tires on it. Definitely felt like a tranny whine and rattle. It lagged downshifting from 3rd as well with a small lurch after it found the gear. Was disappointed. Hopefully one of the 07s will work out.

6' plus. I am 6'3" and I could really use the seat to go back another two inches. The other challenge for taller drivers is the seat bottom is a little short and does not tilt back enough to make it comfortable over long distances.

12k for a Fit with 92k seems way too high.

I bought my 09 fit brand new and it has over 70k miles with no problems so far. I think that the seats are fairly comfortable. I have driven 900+ mile trips with it, without being uncomfortable at all. I agree thought that 12k seems pretty high for a 09 with that many miles.
