Just wondering, anyone use this in their fit sport?

I don't think it will work. I tried connecting my Droid 4 to the USB port and I get an incompatible device error. I put the phone in USB media mode and it still would not work.

Well, my iphone 5 works fine. I'd hate to have to have a new phone and an iPod but it sounds like that may be the only way going forward.

If anyone who has a windows 8 based can comment that will be greatly appreciated.

I'm just now realizing I will probably have to have an iPod anyway because any music purchased on iTunes probably won't play due to copy protection.

The manual only mentions flash drives (i.e. USB mass storage devices) and iPods/iPhones. I'd be quite surprised if other smart phones/devices worked, at least in any way more usefully than as a plain old flash drive.

Music purchased from the iTunes store in the past few years is not protected, by the way. (It does have the purchaser's ID information put in metadata, but there's no encryption or other DRM to prevent it from playing on unauthorized devices.)

Oh fantastic so if I get a flash drive and copy my library it'll all be available--good to know.
