Question What is this Part??

Hi All,
This is my first post here.
I bought a 2007 Fit Base for my daughter who is moving to a state far away and needed a reliable car. Thought the Fit would be perfect.
Anyway I found this part in the console cup holder and can not figure out what it is. Any help would be appreciated.
It is rubber and looks like a door or hood bumper or stop. It has the letters "H2" on it and is 1.5"x.75"x.5" in size. The top is flat with ridges and the bottom looks like a claw. There is a white dot in the middle of the claw. Also the hole in the middle looks to act like a "squish" zone.
Here is a picture.
Any ideas??
Thanks all,
Root6t6

It is for the rear view mirror, it wedges between the arm and windshield.

Yup rear view mirror. Absorbs the shock I believe. Buddy pulled that out one day and mirror rattled like the dickens.

Thanks guys,
I would have never figured that out but it makes total sense now.
That looks like an "oops the mirror rattles like crazy, we better come up with an add on fix that doesn't require changes to parts already being produced by the thousands" part. LOL!

Thanks CarBuff. I'll take the picture plus the item number you referenced to my Honda dealer tomorrow to see if they can get it for me. While the price is $3.50, the shipping is twice more. For that price, I can probably manufacture one myself from a solid piece of rubber at the hardware store.

That's why I always quote Honda's list price.

So, call it less than 5 bux.

PS Maybe you should look for the original one under the seat?

How do you guys manage to lose these or have them fall off?

I know my idiot friend ripped mine off, but I was there when it happened and put it right back in.

OK, I just got my doodad from Honda. They ripped me off for this 2 inch piece of rubber to the tune of $10.50 (which is about the same as it would have been online (($4 plus $6 for shipping))). It does fit very snuggly on to the thin metal stalk of the rear view mirror, and up against the windshield. I hope it will get rid of the jiggles in the mirror. I must say however, that I find it hard to believe that this piece originally came with the 2007-2008 Fit; very hard to believe as a matter of fact. I have never seen another rubber support piece like it in another vehicle in all my life. Anyway, it gave me another opportunity to go to my Honda dealer and poke my finger in the eyes of the sales people who didn't get my Fit before I did. Thank you again strange person who decided to retire and get rid of his many motorcycles and cars that were no longer needed; thank you.

It's funny, the other day I was rummaging around in the toolkit I used to bring to junkyards when I was young and poor. I found a mirror "holder" similar to the one pictured. Can't remember if I picked it up for our '76 Accord or the '81 Civic....
