replacement key fob?

So I definitely need to get used to the key fob as tonight I seem to have lost mine. My friend thinks someone at my gym accidentally took it? Who knows? In any event, it needs to be replaced.

Is this done through Honda directly or the dealership? Id like to avoid the inevitable dealer markup if possible.

you need just the fob? find one on ebay, take to dealership to have it programmed

or try Honda Parts Catalog Store | Wholesale Parts | Honda Parts Store, sometimes they beat other online dealership prices

@ SR45 - I might be wrong but I think the OP is looking for the key fob that locks/unlocks the doors. The link you provided is for a remote engine starter as in "starting" your car via a button on the fob itself when standing outside of your car.

I've been thinking about getting a replacement key, just in case. It sounds as if $108 might be too high? What are the costs involved, out of interest? I'm no mechanic, but I'm guessing parts, key cutting and programming the key itself?

You can order the fob yourself. Bernardi has the transmitter for $40 and a blank key insert for like $16. You will have to go to the dealership to have them program and cut it for you. What the dealership charges will be hard to predict or control. Some might try to rip you off especially if you didn't purchase the parts from them.

This is what I'm going to do. I might tell the dealership that the fob stopped working and that maybe a "reprogram" would fix it. Ha! j/k
