Unhappy Honda called me today and said they had a fit for me......

After only waiting 1 week. Took off from work to test drive it and found a major issue with it. I have no place to put my left foot. In all my cars especially my BMW i have this pedal that sits on the far left where i can rest my foot extended. Well the fit has no pedal and to make matters worse.....i cant extend it. There is no room left of the clutch. The wall comes inward.

This is a deal breaker for me since i cant imagine not being able to keep my left leg stretched on my 3 hour vegas runs. I never ran into this problem with any car ive owned in the past.

If the dealer cant sway away from the $1500 mark up then ill have to move on from the fit. They want $17200.....1500 mark up and wheel locks.

Seriously...wheel locks? Who the F would want to steal 13" rims in South Orange County.

I layed it flat for awhile. And rest it where the dead ped should be, you get use to it.

Not to mention the 3 6hr runs from pa to va.

This also bothered me at first but after just a few trips I never notice it any more. Zeta has a dead pedal kit also now.

what dealer are you going through? I emailed Julie Frisch at Family Honda in RSM and she got me one in 3 weeks... sport NBP MT.. exactly what i wanted. true it was already in transit, but i only paid $300 mark up, no bs of adding on stuff. you should shoot her an email and see what she can do for you.

as for the dead petal, i got used to it really quickly after driving from so cal to utah and back. don't really notice it anymore

just my $0.02

I felt the dead pedal was a deal killer too but when I saw the aftermarket one I went to test drive the car again. The second test drive it didn't bother me that much so at this point I am going to drive for a while without it as see how it goes.

I feel pretty luck that there was a Black Sport Auto real close (just what I wanted) and that they gave it to me for sticker even tho they were trying to get $20k for it.

The manager seemed pretty pissed that I also didn't get the gap insurance and window etching bullshit.

Mine is taking a month and a half to get here, but since we've bought cars from the same guy before, I'm getting $800 off the MSRP.

I never notice the missing dead pedal since I am shifting all the time.

I pay only $17,299.25 = msrp + tax.

Here in Puerto Rico there are a few in dealers. Mine took only one week to find Manual Sport. The only thing is that I wanted it red and they could only find 2 taffetas in manual. I found a red manual in Barranquitas, but the sales man wanted $18,000 and I said that wouldn't pay $700 for just a color "THANK YOU VERY MUCH, BUT NO THANK YOU"

The base fit has 14" steel wheels. The Sport has 15" alloys. FWIW...

Move the chair back. that's one thing about me. it took me 6 months to realize i've been sitting close. the distance i'm at, whether i rest my foot on the cave-in (which is the wheel) or the clutch, my foot is almost fully extended.

So very sorry that you just don't "FIT". The pedal that you are referring to is called a "dead" pedal. I've just checked out my own Fit and I've got plenty of room to the left of the break pedal. Not sure why you wouldn't have room...
Anyway, the FIT is a great little car. It's too bad it doesn't FIT you

Although the lack of a dead pedal was also an issue for me, I got used to it not having one after driving my Fit for a week or so. For the few minuses that the fit has, the pluses far outweigh them in terms of handling, roominess, zippiness, gas milege and interior/exterior appearance. Hope you don't give up the Fit just because of the pedal.

I thought I'd miss the dead pedal, but I don't, and I've had my Fit since April. My Accord had an odd hump to the left where the dead pedal should have been -- not enough to rest my foot and not enough flat space to the left of the brake pedal either. A bigger car, but somehow with less room on the floor than the Fit!
