Couple questions before used 2015 purchase

I found a used 2015 EX for a decent price near me and am considering trading in my 2012 sport to get it. I was just wondering if the cargo cover from my 2012 would fit in the 2015? Really don't want to pay for the new one if I can make the 2012 one work.

Also, I know a lot of the earlier 2015's had quality issues. It looks like this one was built 12/2014. Anyone with a similar build date think this would be of concern or have any quality issues with yours?

Thanks for any help!

From what I recall, I don't think the cargo cover will fit since they also reduced the rear cargo area for a few more inches of rear seat leg room. My build date is 11/2014 and has been good except for the splash shield partially falling off 4 weeks into ownership. We have 20K and it has been a great car. Perhaps not built on a Monday or Friday.

Thanks! I figured it probably wouldn't fit. I wanted to see if anyone was able to modify their old one to make it fit.

Thanks, I'm still thinking on it. I really like the infotainment the Civic got so I may just hold out until that upgrade happens in a future Fit.

So many build quality issues. Have you considered getting a Chevy Cruze?

I'd consider the Civic Hatchback before I'd consider the Cruze.

I have one built in 12/14 and purchased 3/15. Developed a sagging front bumper after a few thousand miles. Received CVT and door handle recalls. Also had front driver window and rear passenger side wheel well liners replaced under warranty. It's my first Honda and I'm underwhelmed at the quality control...

For the cargo cover, I built my own since I didn't want to pay for the $200 accessory from Honda. Click my sig picture for pictures of it.

Mine was built 9-14 and purchased new 3-15. I've had the sagging bumper (happened suddenly in July-15) and a misaligned dashboard since new. Neither of which Honda can fix.

I've also had the door handle bracket recall and a rear axle replaced (rear wheels couldn't be aligned, causing rapid tire wear) under warranty. Then, this summer, I had the starter motor go bad, causing intermittent starting issues.

I love the car, but compared to my '09 Fit, I'm disappointed with the build quality.

Very helpful 2rismo2 and uncle Gary. I figured the quality issues would be brought up about the 2015. I'll probably just hold off for now with my 2012 sport and see if they decide to update the 2018. Wasn't really looking to buy new for now so by then I'd probably consider it.

good call.. im sure by the 17's the mexico production is pretty stable.. no scientific data
and no need to make fun of mexican assembly plants. my 16' GTI is from mexico and built real nicely (and precisely for dat matter).

Overall, both my 2015 Fit and 2014 ST built in Mexico have been fine as well.

And I'm still not convinced with cars built in Mexico...even with their QC to Honda Standards. At the end of the day, as a consumer, I try to minimize the amount of trip to the dealership for warranty work as much as possible. Aint got time for dat.
