Jouncy Ride: What To Do?

Hey All

I have a 2016 Fit. We like it a lot but the ride on Chicago streets can get annoyingly jolt-y. Every seam in the road is felt and I'm wondering if there's something to do about that. We bought it used last year and I don't know what the "default" height and tire pressure is supposed to be. For all I know, the tires aren't full enough, but I'd also like to know thoughts about shocks/struts that protect against crappy street pavement.

The recommended tire pressure is literally on a sticker inside the driver's door jamb.
