ZX Performance Springs & Shocks

Hello hello,

Just found that my drivers side rear shock has gone. After looking, I believe the shocks are all original with 140k miles, so its time to replace them all before the rest go.

I found this pair on ebay for $150 called ZX Performance for our Fits and thought that is a pretty good deal since I wouldn't mind lowering it a little bit anyways just for extra handling. I can't find any reviews on them anywhere though, so just wanted to know if anyone else has heard of them. I can only find some reviews of their lowering springs on S197 Mustangs.

Unless there are some other low cost options that I can't find that anyone else can suggest that has some actual history, I would appreciate it. Otherwise, if they don't work out, I'll just replace with back to stock.

That price is a bit scary! Look at it like this...

Spring - $10 ea - total $40
Shocks - $15 ea - total $30
Struts - $25 ea - total $50
Shipping - $30

Grand total $150

I can't see how any one of the components could be decent. Guess you won't be out too much to try, but I'd make sure and be pretty critical of the outcome. Suspension is pretty darn important.

Yeah, I am pretty surprised at the price as well, but the prices for parts on the Honda Fit have been surprising me for a while now with how cheap they are.

Pricing it out, I can get stock replacement shocks and struts for about $125, and then springs themselves for $100 all separate. So it's not too far off.

I sent them a message to see if they will tell me who manufactures the struts & shocks for them since there are no reviews.

I found the same kit for $230 on Amazon, so maybe the seller is just low balling it on ebay.

No website.
No phone number.
No physical address.

Yeah, I'm not even dreaming of buying a part (especially something as crucial as suspension) from that.

I pulled up ZX Performance's amazon store once upon a time, and noticed something strange. They ONLY sell purple springs, and white springs. The last time I checked, D2/TruHart sells purple springs, and white springs.

I dont have hard proof but... my guess is, they are selling re branded D2/TruHart products. OR, they are the supplier for d2/truhart and are selling their products direct (without the branding)

For the money, I'd give it a shot

I’ll take pictures once I get them to compare. Should get them next week.

Makes sense evilchargerfan. A lot of brands are just rebranded stuff with there just being markup all along the way. It’s not like the Fit has some super unique design, they are pretty basic shocks and struts that manufacturers have been making for decades, so they should have the efficiency of building them pretty much set. Now are they high end ultra tight toleranced, trick valved shocks and struts, probably not, but they for a 140k mile beater. Might as well give it a shot for that price if I can make it more fun at the same time as some general maintenance.

Definitely worth a shot for that price. I would not expect 140k miles out of them like the OEM ones but hey!

Those springs are going to have wild coil bind under compression, those are so tightly wound.

Y'all are wild. Just because something is cheap doesn't mean it is a good value.

There always has to be someone who is first to try something out. If it doesn't work out, I'll make sure to leave a review for others.

Wow! If rep points still existed on here, evilchargerfan should be awarded thousands!

Might be lower end stuff, but I'd say you got a killer deal. Just need to hope it drives well and the struts/shocks last awhile.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I expected a brown box with no branding .... WOW!

talk about a come up.... if you look at Retail price:
https://www.truhartusa.com/category_s/177.htm
$140 for the springs
$300 for the shocks

It would appear, TruHart gives a lifetime warranty on those shocks ... nice!
