Crazy Rain! Fit fun last night?

so last night i was so excited!! RAIN! RAIN=less tire wear etc so go have just a bit of fun.. I did some crazy wheel-hopping launches, a few open diff turns while flooring it (one wheel spinning like crazy), tested out the ABS, which translates alot of vibrations to the pedal! and i did one e-brake slide. I must say... it was the most exciting thing in my life so far.

Oh and i grinded 2nd because im noob and i let off the clutch before throwing it into 2! I felt so bad.. hopefully it wasn't too horrible. I officially grinded reverse and 2nd one time

VTEC!

btw, i will admit i did the launches near some cars but i definitely did not do the e-brake near any cars. The ABS test was near a car or too but i made sure it was a very short period of braking and that the other cars would definitely not be hit (they were stopped at a red light)

i know i know, i will probably get flamed for being an idiot... but im sure a few of you will agree that a small amount of spirited driving would make the Fit feel happy! and make u happy 2

man, it was so windy and rainy up here in sf, i went out driving and i thought my suspension was messed up because it was pulling violently left and right but then i looked up at the trees swaying in the crazy fast wind and i turned around and went home.

oh yeah!!! at one point the roads were reallly really wet.. like full of water on the freeway and i could feel the car starting to hydroplane... its scary having a lightweight car like ours in the rain at highway speeds. I didn't even feel safe going 60 at some points..

Get some better tires for the hydroplaning. V rated or higher is usually good enough to keep going faster than 60 in the wetness. I know I drive around 70 on the highways, asphalt pavement. Those things can collect a lot of water

i drove from orange county to berkeley last night. i was hoping for rain just so i wouldn't have bugs plastered all over the car but instead i got rainstorms and sandstorms. there were rocks, branches, and tumbleweeds going sideway across the highway. my car got pretty f*cked up i think by all the little rocks. it was so dark at first i thought it was rain then i saw a cloud of dirt fly by my headlights and i thought oh sh*t and changed lanes and dropped my speed.

the sequence of events went like this: dry weather --> rain --> dirt/debris storm (muddy car) --> rain again (clean car). in that sequence it rained on and off like 4 times too. i also pulled a piece of tumbleweed out from my radiator opening when i stopped for some taco bell. and a gs300 with some huge exhausts drove by me with a branch sticking out of it's radiator area, about 2 feet out toward the passenger side haha. he coulda scratched my car with it while passing if he'd tried to.

but anyway, about what you did testing your ABS with cars around is pretty foolish i think. why even risk hitting a car..do it somewhere safer?

Yup crazy rain last night....holy cow! (for socal)

yeah having fun in the rain is great, my 7th gen civic was a rain machine! HAHAAHAAA, This car for stock is ridiculously grippy in the wet though! (within reason)

hey I dont even have to test my ABS...it does it all on its own!
there is a Whole Foods around here with uber huge speed bumps and after I go over one of them and lighly depress the brake the pedal shudders and makes a horrible racket!!!! sometime up to 3 times in a row, hows that for a horrible self test!!! YIKES!!!! ME NO LIKEY

Dont worry about the grinding, it will be rare that you do it right? So then no worries, chirp it from time to time, not that biggie of a deal, try and jam it in when that happens....not so good.

I too am a noob at stick. Doesn't it seem like a heartbreaking sound when you grind? It makes me feel worthless if i grind.

I was heading up to the city from south bay around 5:30pm and 101 was a mess. I am not sure if it is the tire or not, Fit doesn't clear deep water puddle that good. It seems to be worst than my wife maxima.

That handbrake slide was for like a split second then you freaked and snap understeered. Ahahah.I shoulda videotaped it, oh well.

Then after, you shat your pants while I happily drove my RE car.

eh i was jk, its not like i can top Westminster drivers anyway... i saw this lady TOO LAZY TO BACK UP and she couldnt clear a wall... ended up just scraping the hell out of her accord's bumper... if you get a chance, stare at one while they are in a parking lot... the are SO IGNORANT... backing up and only checking one way like 80 percent of the time.. it annoys me, and fears me that they might crash into me
