DISCUSSION THREAD
So I opened this thread to discuss and plan for the summer meet we will be having.

The Basic RunDown
This will be a weekend long event. Saturday and Sunday. So those coming from a long distance can take advantage of this fun filled weekend. Shit maybe saturday night we might party at a Hotel by the beach, but well see where this goes.Date/weekend this will happen is up in the air depending when I return from my overseas trip. I will set up exact date withing weeks so be patient. Most likely in June-July Yes, it's a while still but it's a weekend thing and requires planning on my part and for those that work on weekend can take advantage of this to ask for that weekend off. Plus people will be traveling from far away. I know there will be some from Norcal, Nevada and maybe arizona coming for this.

Sunday July 13th
"SoCal Canyon Dash"
*We will be meeting somewhere in L.A to gather up before the run.
-most likely somewhere by the foothills of the mountains somewhere. If anyone knows of a good spot share your recomendations.
*Of course we will set up Caravans from:
-San Diego County to Orange County Caravan
-Orange County Caravan to Long Beach caravan
-Long Beach to meet up location
-Riverside County to meet up location
-Los Angeles to meet up location.
Which canyons and the route we will use is still up in the air. Only canyone runs I've done was across the whole mountain from L.A to Palmdale but I doubt people will be down for n extreme run like that. (cause most complain about gas, bohoo). So you know good runs let me know as well.
We will stop somewhere for lunch either before the run or till we get to other side or middle of run if we find something.
Of course get gas before getting to meet up location cause were not gonna be babysitting people to the gas station 'till end of run.
OR we can take sandwich stuff and snacks (our own) to eat at a stopping point somewhere during the run for a break and views.
So basically:
*Caravan meet to Initial Meet up spot.
*Possible on grabbing lunch before run.
*Go do the canyon run (photographers will be taking rolling shots whenever possible and safe)
*Stop somewhere during the run for snack, photoshoot, relaxing, socializing, views, pictures etc etc.


Please share ideas and help plan this to make this the best meet EvaH! We need ideas for both days. I will try my best to make or have clubeg6's admin "ptgraphix" make one but I knows he's extremely busy so we'll see.

man ...you know what we should do. reserve some camping spots!

dude how sweet would that be. day at the beach, then chill at night....then that way everyone from san diego and farther east dont have to drive like double the amount. i mean i dont mind driving, but it would be something different you know?.


then wake up and start the cruise from there. we would have to reserve the spot because summer gets pretty busy. i would be down to chip in for that.

 

Yeah, I'm trying to organize as best as possible which is why I'm doing this way ahead of time


Camping would be sweet. Some of us were thinking Hotel after the beach for some poker and drinks but camping sounds fun as well. Only problem is where and we gotta shower and stuff next morning lol. There's gonna be some people from sacramento/San Francisco area coming so something definetly needs to be planned so northern and SD guys don't have too much driving.

That's the purpose of this thread to get ideas to get this working smoothly

i can't give a definite yes/no until there's a date pinned down. but i certainly want to go.

 

this is a discussion thread for you guys to input your ideas and help plan this as a group to make the majority happy. Once that's done a date will be set. Most likely in July.

As far as saturday evening/night we can camp at lake Irvine which would be good for people coming from northern cali,san diego and outta state. That's just an idea I'm throwing out there.

 

we should do it at newport beach? i know theres a campground right on the bay. i did it when i was in boy scouts(heh). ill have to get you the name.


but irvine is fine too.

 

Is there a number fpor that place I can call? I will try to start calling now to see if reservation is required. Hopefully not.

 

they don't have the campground anymore at the Back Bay, b/c they are building a new science center right now and but in the future they will be a campground, and allow they will not allow a car meet down there b/c it ecology reserve and protected wetland.

 

but if you guy want to camp try O'Neil Park, it right next to Irvine Park and Irvine Lake

Quick update for you guys:

This event will most likely be in the weekend of July 19th-20th. I will call a couple people to confirm that date. But it's almost a sure thing for that weekend.
