There is NO way that you should need a tune up at 15K miles. 50K would be early!!!! Can you say "Rip Off"?

Dirty fuel injectors is usually the problem!!!!!
When was the last time you put fuel system cleaner in your tank. NEVER?
It is important to keep your injectors clean. They spray like a Windex bottle and deposits can build up on them (sometimes from dirty gas) and the spray turns into a dribble. Adding fuel system (or fuel injector) cleaner will REALLY help clean them up.

I like Red Line fuel system cleaner (treats 100 gallons) and use it every oil change or sooner. Pep Boys and AutoAnything carry it.

If you are going through your brake pads at 15K you need to change your driving habits or find a new mechanic. 30K is more reasonable unless you brake really hard.

So total damage so far from Honda is $400 for the 15k and an air filter. On Friday I go back to get the new brake pads. That's going to be $189+tax.

On a brighter note:

I had my wife drive the car to the dealership for the maintenance and when we go there she asked me "Why is the car so twitchy?" I told her because the stock tires suck and the wheels are so narrow. At the dealership she saw some Buddy Clubs and said here, we should get these. So that will be my Christmas present!

That remind me....to get a bottle soon oil life is at 10% for me......
The gen fit that came out in has this problem a lot with the breaks.

Do you have to bleed the system when you change pads? Also, I don't have that tool that you use to push the caliper back into place for the new pad.

I want to upgrade the rotors and calipers. After the brakes go through another 15k I can convince my wife that we should upgrade them.

Nope..... and just use a C-clamp for the pads.....

you don't really need to upgrade the calipers...just get good pads and rotor and SS line and you are set.....

Mike,

Consider picking up a manual and learn how to do some of these repairs.

Reading and jumping in and doing it is how we learn. Brakes are not very hard (even bleeding them) and you can save $$$$$$$. Brake repairs are a BIG money maker for dealerships.

Give it a try.

Tune ups on most new cars involve replacing the spark plugs. Not much else unless you have other problems.

I know that I may come across as critical but you can save lots and lots of money doing things yourself. From home repairs to auto repairs many things are not that difficult.
