Well guys, since I got the run around from Project Import after leaving the Fit there for 4 days being told that they were just too busy, and being told that they couldn't boroscope the engine until they first pulled the intake manifold (2 hour job they said!), but they couldn't get a 'gasket' kit for it from a dealer until the next day...I finally had it towed to MD Automotive-formerly Jackson Racing in Westminster. Mark is the owner now and he first worked on my '81 Prelude over 20 years ago! He scoped my engine and found that the #4 spark plug hole was completely stripped and the electrode from the plug had bounced around and pitted the head and piston. A leakdown test revealed 70% in 1-3 and 20% in 4 after he helicoiled it... Bottom line I'm getting a used motor with under 50K to replace it...cheaper than rebuilding-labor wise but still over $2300. Should be ready next Wednesday... all due to not tightening one spark plug enough...Doh! TIGHTEN YOUR PLUGS!

Sorry to hear about your engine. I'm always carefull about making sure the plugs are tight and not stripping the thread with the head made out of aluminum. At least you are getting another motor and the Fit will be back on the road again. I used to drive by JR all the time when I was dating this girl that live around the corner from the place.
Anyone look up to see the Supermoon tonight?
I learned a new fact at work today!
California's main funding source for freeway maintenance comes from the gas tax. Our freeways are increasingly under-maintenanced because we have more hybrid / electric vehicles, which contribute less to the gas taxes because they buy less gas. Damn you Prius, you're the reason for unfixed potholes!
