HELP!! Too damn low for an alignment!

ok, so i'm not much lower than what the skunk2 springs drop height is at - i'm on skunk2 pro-c's. i've been to three different alignment places in the valley (818) and NONE of them can accomodate for my car. i'll fit the ramp but won't clear the hydraulic lift

can anyone recommend a place doesn't use a ramp and has a drive-up ledge above a ditch? it doesn't have to be in the valley, i'll drive as far as the south bay (torrance). it's been over a week since i've installed these coilovers and i'm getting a little worried

Pete, if you're reading this, do you think i'd clear the alignment shop you had told me about? thanks!

why dont you raise it up to where it can fit over the hydraulic lift, get the alignment then bring it back to where you want it?

i have never tried it, so i am unsure....

i don't think that'll work, i'll have to get an alignment after dropping it again

i've debated on raising my front about half an inch, i was planning on doing it at your wrench meet too . but it's just so damn sexy where it sits right now that it would be a shame to tool around with it. also, as soon as i get my new wheels it'll probably raise the front end by just that much (half an inch).

thanks for the suggestion though!

take your car to a high end car shop. i had to take my car to a shop that specializes in exotics because no one else had a lift that i could fit onto. if a lamborghini can fit on an allignment machine, your fit can too.

the way i see it, and i may be totally wrong, is all you are changing the heighth not the positioning of the strut itself. it kinda makes sense to me because out of all the cars i have ever lowered, i took them for an aligment and the only thing that was off was the toe. by changing the whole strut the first time would and could change the positioning which will require the alignment, but once the alignment is done....you theoretically should be able to raise and lower without any further alignments. i mean, all those people out there with coil overs that allways change the heighth cant be getting an alignment every time they adjust them.

West End Alignment

Best place for an alignment! Only thing is you have to book about 2 weeks in advanced cause Darin has so many customers trying to get alignments from him!

in case you're still lookng for a spot, I got mine done at America's tires here in Cerritos. My car's pretty low so to get it up the lift they had to use wooden pegs and there was still only about 1/8in clearance betwen my front lip (oem) and the ramp. Threr's a guy that works there by the name of Jason that used to work at a local performance shop and he's the one that is asigned to do all dumpped cars. I've talked to him and he said he gets alot of the 240 guys that have evey alignment adjustment possible. LOL

Note: Not sure if all americas tires would be able to accomodate my "dumpped-ness" but I've had a lifetime allignment with them since I've had the car. Also I brought my car back to them 3 times in the same week untill I was happy with the height of my car.

Also, they charge $160/lifetime allignment vs $70/allignment.

^ LOL. They actually asked me "if it's not too much trouble, can you please remove your bumper before you come in for your next allignment?"

LoL, i remember you mentioning that when we met up. i haven't made any adjustments and are running the same setting that you had - i only measured to make sure the drop on both sides are equal and that the endlinks were both at equal distances

it looks soooooo good even on the sport wheels (minus the offset). again, i can't thank you enough for hookin' me up and helping me over the phone; i must've called you nearly 10 times

autobacs should be able to do it, plus you can shop around while your car is getting serviced.
