Hey everyone, I'm trying to plan another run up Palomar Mountain, hopefully for a time less crowded and snowy than the last run. If you're not familiar with Palomar Mountain, it is a mountain in San Diego that rises 5550 feet over many switchbacks. It's a great drive.

OK!!! Here are the details. It looks like most people want to go in the morning on March 28, so let's meet at the same gas station as last time at 8am on Saturday, March 28. From there we can drive up Palomar, maybe get some food at Mother's Diner, then cruise to Julian like last time or wherever.

The directions to the parking lot where we will be meeting is as follows:

How to get there you may ask? Easy...right off the 15 Freeway either coming North or South you would exit on the Hwy 76 exit (Pala Road) (exit #46)

The gas station is on the left side of the freeway if you are coming from SD, or on the right side of the freeway if coming South on the 15.

if its crack of dawn saturday, i probably cant meet up at that time since i get off work @ 6:15am. i'd like to get there somewhere before dawn or before dusk cause i wanna get some awesome sky shots. also if we go night (which i really want to do) i gotta get new glasses cause i can't see s#it like detail.

Oh and Note..whats up with you and wanting to go for a drive before the sun comes up in the morning? Why not just go at night?!?!
I woke up at 430 in the am for the Angeles Crest cruise last month!

 

let's bump this up. I'd like to get a decent amount of people interested in this. So far it's looking like Saturday is the day to go. Now the question is, dawn or late night?

 

Let me see if I can make it on the 28th. We should go early in the morning. I say we start at 6:00 or 7:00 AM.
